My Story
Like you, I was searching for answers and solutions when I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. I had visited my OB-GYN right before a two-week sojourn in the Sierra Mountains, and upon my return, the grim diagnosis was waiting for me. To make matters worse, the type of ovarian cancer I had – Clear Cell Carcinoma – was one of the worst, most aggressive kinds. If this was not a wakeup call, I don’t know what is!
Up until that overwhelming moment, I thought I was healthy. I went to the gym five days a week and “ate right,” or so I thought. But I never thought that I would not survive. God had other plans for me. My natural instinct was to get to the bottom of it and to find healing. As I went through the process of cancer treatments and chemotherapy, I soaked up any and all information. Like a sponge, I wanted to absorb everything. My thirst for knowledge was insatiable. I read books, watched documentaries, read articles, medical papers and any literature I could find. I studied the moves of other cancer survivors to learn what they did or didn’t do. However, I found it difficult to find good, clear information that was easy to digest or that wasn’t over 500 pages long.
On the bright side, I discovered a common denominator between all of my research. During times of war and five years thereafter, people lived off the land and cancer rates plummeted down to zero. They ate fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains and seeds. Hence, I quickly became a vegan. People came to me with questions, which started a “movement”, per say. That is why I am here, today.
I am not a doctor, nor a nutritionist. I am a mother, daughter, fun-seeker, hiker, and golfer who is passionate about health. I’m also a blogger, video journalist, health advocate, organic living expert, public speaker, and healthy living coach. Recently, I became a member of IFOAM, Organic International, and have been a supporter and donor of the Organic Consumers Assoc. of America. I studied environmental health, nutrition, well-being and food at Harvard University. Most recently, I became an author, with a soon-to-be released book entitled; “Cancer? We’ve Got This!”
So now, my journey led me to launch this website. I realize that what I put in my body needs to be just as pure as what I put on it. In fact, there are hardly any regulations of the 60 billion dollar a year makeup and skincare product industry. Startling, right? That’s why I’m here to disclose both the toxic and non-toxic products that people commonly use. Come along with me and explore the safest, healthiest products that truly work.
